The iconic Forth Rail Bridge has just been named among the most instagrammable in the UK, according to new research. The famous Victorian engineering marvel made into 8th on the UK-wide list with just over 49,500 posts.
The cantilever railway bridge, which spans across the Firth of Forth, dates back to the 1890s and is considered a a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A spokesperson for Compare The Market , who carried out the research said: "One of the best parts of a road trip is taking photos to capture great memories and show friends and family the amazing things you’ve seen, if you’re driving in the UK or Europe, we’ve put together a list of some of the best bridges to visit – not just for their beauty, but for the stunning Instagram posts they’ll make.

1. Glenfinnan Viaduct
Probably one of the most recognisable bridges in Scotland, thousands travel to Glenfinnan every year to catch a glimpse of the steam train crossing it thanks to its starring spot in the Harry Potter series.
2. The Old Packhorse Bridge, Carrbidge
One of the oldest bridges around, the old packhorse bridge, which gives the village of Carrbridge its name, was built way back in 1717. It is considered to be the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands.

Perhaps the strangest looking bridge on this list, this wonderfully unique 18th-century multi-arched bridge in Moray is also one of the hardest to find as the area around it is so overgrown.
5. The Fairy Bridge
One of Scotland's best-kept secrets, the mystical Fairy Bridge of Glen Creran, has been spell-binding Scots for generations.
The magical stone footbridge, which can be found at the end of a short hike close to the hills at the head of Loch Creran, has an ethereal quality to it, and many who have crossed it say they have become a different person.
6. Skye Bridge
This incredible bridge, dubbed the 'Gateway to the Isle of Skye', was designed to connect Skye to the mainland and replaces the ferry from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin on the island.
7. Leaderfoot Viaduct
This wonderful-looking sandstone viaduct, which has 19 red sandstone arches and spans the River Tweed, was designed in the 1860s by Charles Jopp and Wylie & Peddie.
8. Craigellachie Bridge, Speyside
Whisky fans across the globe will know this bridge from one of their many visits to one of Scotland's most famous whisky-producing regions. It spans the River Spey and was designed by famed engineer Thomas Telford.
