  • The rapper lived with his grandmother after his parents, who moved to the United States, left him to her care when he was just one year old.
  • He reunited with his family at the age of 13, when in 1982, he immigrated to the United States.
  • At 6, he started working, and his first job was to milk cows in a Haiti village. Wyclef got 5 cents for the chore. He also shepherded cows to earn money.
